ENTRUST Solutions Group Design Technician II in North Smithfield, Rhode Island

Introduction:

Join our dedicated team as a Design Technician II, where you will support electric utility distribution projects. ENTRUST is an industry leader in power, known for supporting utilities, co-ops, and municipalities throughout the US.

Responsibilities:

This is an exciting position with a growing team and requires you to be local to Providence, RI or within 2hr driving radius.

As a Design Technician II, your responsibilities may include conducting GPS surveys, locating overhead and underground lines, performing inspections, and documenting power distribution, electric distribution, and other related facilities. You'll complete design tasks for associated electric utility design projects, which encompass drafting, engineering calculations, easement validation, design and construction cost estimating, and permit package development. Additionally, you'll review Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for updates or conflicts, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in project execution. Effectively managing multiple projects at once to ensure their timely and successful completion is crucial for this role. This approach will lead to high customer satisfaction and help achieve both company and departmental objectives.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma

  • 1-3 years of experience in supporting utility electric distribution projects

  • Experience with AutoCAD

  • Ability to travel 30% locally and, as needed, domestically

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree in technical related field

  • Technical certificate in drafting
